Engineering Plastics
Engineering plastics are increasingly used in industry as cost effective solutions to many problems. The advantageous properties of engineering plastics include the fact that they exhibit excellent resistance to wear, are self-lubricating and contribute to noise reduction.
Here at Provincial Rubber we manufacture, stock and supply a wide range of engineering plastics made of high-quality materials. For example, we offer polycarbonate sheets, often used as an unbreakable glazing substitute, that are 200 times stronger than glass while allowing for 90% light transmission.
We also make and deliver acrylic for signage and display purposes; flexible polypropylene that is perfect for cladding; lightweight yet durable foam PVC that can be painted, printed, engraved or milled; hard-wearing UHMW PE is great for machinery parts and lining storage containers; and nylon 66 is a material used widely in synthetic fabrics as well as for moulding into tough items like chopping boards or bicycle wheels.
Other products include PTFE, Acetal, Polyethylene and Carbon Fibre in sheet or bar, Tufnol and wall cladding materials.
Our engineering plastics and display plastics are available in extruded or pressed sheets and extruded rods, in many cases in different colours, in different sizes and thicknesses. If you require a product of particular dimensions just let us know and we will endeavour to help you. Contact our sales team to discuss your specific requirements.
