High Temperature Rubber Sheeting
Many are surprised to discover that some rubber materials are able to withstand extremely high temperatures. Certain synthetic grades of rubber have been engineered to withstand temperatures of more than 300 °C.
If you are shopping for super-hot rubber sheeting, you’ve come to the right place. Provincial Rubber has a selection of heat resistant rubber sheeting listed in this category. Most of these products have other useful properties too, so you can take your pick and find the right rubber sheeting to suit your purpose. As a rough guide, you’ll find that silicone is probably the best rubber sheeting to cope with extreme temperatures. Bear in mind though you’ll find that it does not have a high tensile strength and tear resistance.
Viton® is a great performance elastomer, handling temperatures up to well over 200°C, coupled with great chemical resistance properties. Hypalon (Chlorosuphonated polyethene) is another synthetic rubber which has excellent heat resistance, with the bonus of good electrical properties and low flammability.
EPDM can perform optimally in excess of 150°C, but has poor resistance to petroleum-based fuels.
